Whoa, the level of drama with this thing! My 13yo son goes away for the summer with his dad and comes home to a New Room (design) each year for the past 9. This time was to be the 1st New Room in New House in New State as a Teen. ? Pressure is ON. BIGTIME. I order this mural Prime a month before he’s to arrive, and 3 weeks later - nothing. The carrier has damaged it and after a LONG time on the phone with them to get a status - refuses to deliver. Enter: frantically messaging the company - who was AWESOME - and responded immediately! Homeboy at Wall26 shot out another panel set and I had it a few days later, with THREE days to spare before the boy returned!
Now for working with the product itself:
First thing to note and only reason for 4 stars: the lighter grays of the marble pattern are actually a light taupe. Wasn’t thrilled about that at all when aiming for a full monochrome b&w room, but....se la vie. It looks good in the mix.
It only took an hour from beginning to end (by myself) to cut around the edges (personal design choice) and hang it. Mind you, I’ve hung one of these things before. It comes in 4 panels with VERY clear and precise instructions on not only hanging, but strategy. (Unlike the first one I did) FOLLOW THEM. However, it recommends using a dry cloth to initially smooth it onto the wall as you are working, I personally work more efficiently with a credit card, and then a cloth to go back over it after it’s done for a final smooth out.
It is very forgiving as far as messing up, peeling back, and resticking, just be careful not to let sticky side fold over and touch sticky side - that turns a good time into a real pain in the ***. This is where the part in the instruction that instructs you to FOLD BACK the backing paper about 6 inches down from the top when you begin comes in handy. Crease it. Get it out of the way so nothing is interfering with the mission.
It may not match up perfectly for you all the way down the seam of the overlap (about 1.5”). Again, it’s very forgiving and totally ok. You won’t notice it when you step back.
Would I order *specifically* From this company again? Hell yes. Simply for the fact that they didn’t make me welcome home my heartily missed child to a Lame Room in a New House, New State, and New School. Bonus: quality mural.
